The Supreme Court on Wednesday issued notice to the Centre, Google India, Yahoo India and Microsoft Corporation on a petition seeking a ban on popular online search engines promoting sex selection techniques.
A three-Judge Bench of Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and Justices P. Sathasivam and J.M. Panchal issued notice on a writ petition filed by Dr. Sabu Mathew George highlighting the violation of Preconception and Prenatal Diagnostic Techniques Act by the websites.
Counsel Sanjay Parikh submitted that despite bringing the websites to the notice of the departments concerned, no steps were taken to block them. He said the petition was filed for full and effective implementation of the Act.
He sought a direction to the Centre to block all websites, including those of Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, that violated the Act.
Dr. George wanted a direction to the Centre to take punitive and deterrent action against these three companies.
It is funny that even though Google's adwords policy does not allows this
advertising when ads are targeted to India, it still shows up.
It is banned because of selective abortion for past centuries have resulted in dip in girl population. The sex ratio in many parts is almost 900 to 1000 men.

68 % women and men prefer MALE bosses
Nearly 68 percent women and men prefer male bosses in the emerging corporate culture as 'men are faster in taking decisions, quicker in disposing off their assigned work and at the same time passionate in awarding their subordinates with functional autonomy to completely let them enjoy their work.'
Men and women differ in their preferences for a boss, but those who prefer male bosses are found in both genders. In fact women are more likely to state their preference of boss's gender and men are most likely to say that they don' care about boss's gender.
Adults between 25 and 34 don't care much about their boss. Above 35 they prefer males.
Women also prefer male co-workers as they are more comfortable with them.

Budget folly
The finance minister of India has increased IT exemption for men up to 110000 , for women 145000 , and senior citizens up to 195000 . I don't understand this logic .
Nowadays women work in BPO's and MNC's ,etc . They are earning a good amount . But whatever it may be their income is an extra income to the family .While in most family in India are patriarchal where only a man earns. His parents and siblings are dependent on him . He has to look after them . Hence , he ,too , deserves higher IT exemption . Senior citzens who earn that amount are well off and most of them have children's to look after them . Even if they don't this amount is enough for them . Further they get more interest on savings . The only worry for them is medical expense . But for that there is insurance .
The finance minister has pleased these well-to-do citizens while ignoring the widows of debt-ridden farmers who committed suicide of the vidarbha region . Many more senior citizens, their parents , are in pitiful condition .Hence , if the FM would have brought their IT limit on par with the men we could use the money for these poor people .
