n a severe setback for Ranbaxy Laboratories, the US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) has banned the entry in the US of over 30 medicines manufactured by the drug maker at two of its Indian facilities. The regulator has also decided not to grant any new approval to Ranbaxy to sell drugs in the US that are manufactured at its facilities in Dewas (Madhya Pradesh) and Paonta Sahib (Himachal Pradesh).
The US drug regulator has issued warning letters to the drug major where it has cited cross-contamination problems at the Dewas facility and equipment validation and improper maintenance of inspection re-cords at its Paonta Sahib as reasons for its action against Ranbaxy.
“Because of the extent and nature of the violations, US FDA on Tuesday issued an Import Alert, under which US officials may detain at the US border, API and both sterile and non-sterile finished drug products manufactured at such Ranbaxy facilities and offered for import into the US,” said an US FDA statement.
Indian drug firm Ranbaxy has hired ex-New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani as an adviser, the company says.
Ranbaxy said Mr Giuliani's consulting and investment firm will advise it and look into compliance issues.

Video Games to make you learn how to think
Wired reports that The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency commissions three custom games to teach new recruits critical thinking skills, while the Army builds its own simulator to instruct intelligence officers in the art of interrogation. These method to boos thinking would be useful in present war against terror as terrorist are getting smarter. Hope big game creators make such games rather than normal crash and violent games.

Clintons earned $109 Million!!! Bush can make even more
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Clinton made nearly $109 million since they left the White House, capitalizing on the world's interest in the former first couple and lucrative business ventures.
The Clintons reported $20.4 million in income for 2007 as they gave the public the most detailed look at their finances in eight years. Almost half the former first couple's money came from Bill Clinton's speeches.
George Bush can make even more as he is famous for all the things he has done during his two terms. His Bushism ,Iraq war and other point of view would make him great public speaker. The most hated are the ones who make more money a.k.a. Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. And Bush has a comical image too. May be he could take some public speaking tips from our very own Laloo Prasad Yadav.

US-India ties set to go over the moon
On matters of space flights and exploration, India has put its cards on table for the United States to see - literally.
At a luncheon meeting on Wednesday hosted by a Washington DC think-tank on K-Street, better known as a hang-out for lobbyists than space buffs, the tables were all named after Indian space pioneers – Dhawan, Chandrasekhar, Sarabhai...
It was an audacious display by a country that till recently was banished from the US space business by a rigid sanctions regime that didn't allow the transfer of a screw, let alone its drivers. But this week, a top-flight delegation led by a person who an US interlocutor described as India's "Mr Space" motored into town for talks on India's mission to the moon and beyond, including Washington's involvement in the Chandrayan series of flights.
There will be two US instruments and experiments among the nearly dozen that will go onboard Chandrayan-I, but as India's space chief Madhavan Nair pointed out repeatedly, that reflects only a pittance of the potential for space cooperation between the two countries. Even with regard to supply of components, tight sanctions that are only being relaxed slowly have kept it down to $ 15 million annually when there is scope for $ 100 million.

Why Narendra Modi re-election will humiliate USA.
Today is the D-day for Narendra Modi. Counting in Gujarat which is called as the political lab of BJP has begun. Exit polls show that it is going to be the closest election in decades. But Narendra Modi remaining in power would change the power equation in the central government. It would humiliate The US government as they had refused visa to him on pretext of the riots disregarding the fact that he was the democratically elected Chief Minister of Gujarat. It is as good as denying visa to a governor . US which is the ideal democracy denies public mandate is not a good sign as it is trying hard to preach democracy in several region.

India snubbed by AdSense ?
Adsense has launched video units in other "English-speaking countries" like UK,Canada, etc after the US. But,they fail to notice Indian publishers. India has more people speaking English than the UK. But they are still in no hurry to launch it in India.

American students outsourced to India
After jobs ,students are moving to India. America has always got a large chunk of students travelling abroad from India. However in recent years it has reduced .
Now this reversal has taken place . There are reports that American students leaving US for India are increasing at twenty percent annually . It is because of good but cheap infrastructure in India.

ICICI to start overseas investing
ICICIdirect.com, the online broking arm of ICICI Securities, today launched its overseas trading service that will allow its resident Indian customers to buy and sell equities across 13 US stock exchanges, including NYSE and Nasdaq.
It’s uncertain how well overseas investment services will fare, given the significant gains India’s own Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange have seen over the past year, making the country one of the most attractive investment destinations worldwide. Market analysts say Indian investors’ lack of knowledge of overseas markets will also serve as a speed bump to placing their money in overseas equities and funds.
The Indian company is looking for similar tie-ups in other parts of the world, such as Europe, to allow Indian investors to buy equities listed on London Stock Exchange, or other markets, where the regulations permit such investments.
However, the forms are not yet available in most branches.

United States C.A. accused of stalling once again
It is emerging that the review of the USA Cricket Association's constitution, which is the first and most important step towards the USA being readmitted to the international arena, is not going according to plan.
The entire review has been shrouded in mystery since it was agreed on in June, but it now seems that there have been setbacks.
The USACA executive has raised objections to the findings of the review committee and has, according to one source, deliberately hampered the process.
