Unique way to monetize your traffic

After reading this great blog post on several unique ways to monetize your blog I hit upon this idea.

Monetize your visitors through metacafe, revver, or best as a Youtube Partner which pays you for your uploaded videos on view count, etc. I mean, if your blog gets over 1000+ visitors per day, you can upload videos to these sites and embed the video on your blog. The visitors combined with your subscribers are going to hit the play button. This will increase your videos view count which will help your video to make it to the front page of these sites bringing more viewers and more revenue.

However, the video should be related to your blogs content. Eg. If you have a blog related to stock market trading, make and upload a video related to stock trading, etc.

Just imagine, how much (more!) money Perez Hilton would make. He is rumoured to have around 4 million unique vistors a day and as many subscribers. Even if, 25% hit the the videos play button he would earn a lot of money which would be a fortune for rest of us.

Difference between diferent video related Adsense product

AdSense for video
AdSense for video allows publishers with video content to earn revenue using relevant, non-intrusive ad placements from Google's extensive advertiser network. Video content will display both InVideo overlay and text overlay ads.

At this time, AdSense for video is in Beta may only be implemented for pages and videos that are in English with traffic primarily from the United States. If you're interested in participating, learn about the requirements, then fill out our interest form.

Adsense video ads
Click-to-play video ads are a new type of ad available for sites in the Google network, including AdSense sites. They're available in several ad formats and will be shown only if a publisher is opted in to image ads for one of the supported ad formats.

When a video ad is served to a page, it will be displayed as a static opening image. Once the user clicks the play button or the opening image, the video will begin playing within the ad space. If the user clicks the display URL at the bottom of the ad, or clicks the ad while it's playing, the user will automatically be taken to the advertiser's website. Users can control the volume and can replay the video if they choose; the video will not automatically replay.

Adsense Video units
Video units are a new way to enrich your site content -- and earn more -- with relevant video from YouTube partners on an embedded, customizable video player. When you place a video unit on your site, you can choose the video content in several ways: by picking content categories, by select individual content providers, or by having video automatically targeted to your site content.

The videos you display will be monetized with relevant ads, too. The video unit displays companion and text overlay ads that are highly targeted and non-intrusive. Plus, to help integrate video units into your site further, you can also customize the color scheme and layout of the video unit.

Video Games to make you learn how to think

Wired reports that The U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency commissions three custom games to teach new recruits critical thinking skills, while the Army builds its own simulator to instruct intelligence officers in the art of interrogation. These method to boos thinking would be useful in present war against terror as terrorist are getting smarter. Hope big game creators make such games rather than normal crash and violent games.

Does having Video commenting make any sense ?

TechCrunch and several other blogs announced that they already have a plugin installed to allow readers to post video comments. But won't it irritate visitors as Videos take more time to load and any ways who would want to video comment on a tech blog. May be for music or video blog it will work. But it will be cool if people use it for good commenting rather than just say hi.

After search Google's youtube dominates video sharing market

YouTube (GOOG) now accounts 73% of all visits to video sites, according to the firm, which released its March numbers. That's a 32% increase from March 2007, and appears to have come largely at the expense other generic video sites such as MySpace TV (down 48%), Google video (down 52%) and Yahoo Video (down 18%).

The Hitwise numbers second Nielsen Netratings' latest data, which shows YouTube at 71.3 million unique visitors in March, or a little more than 70% of the 100.7 million visits to "video/movie" sites as defined by the research firm. In terms of total videos served, YouTube's share is more modest: just 48.5% of all video served on the Web, according to Nielsen's VideoCensus.

Flickr loyalists protest against Flickr introducing video

Here is the petition by groups on Flickr asking for roll back of video.

We the undersigned members of Flickr, free and pro, agree that video has no place on Flickr. Other sites on the web accept video already, but do not accept photos. We all joined Flickr because of it's dedication to photography and photographers, and we want Flickr to remain true to this dedication. It is our request that this feature and addition to Flickr be removed."

Google Risks Muslim Backlash By Hosting Fitna

Google is currently hosting controversial film about Islam Fitma.

The film has made tech headlines after Network Solutions suspended the site the film was to debut on, then Live Leak was forced to pull it following serious threats against the company from Muslims unhappy with the film. Live Leak’s explanation video above.

The film, ripped from Live Leak, is now available on Google Video here in full, and can also be found on YouTube. Warning on the film: there are graphic scenes in it.

What Google does now will be an interesting test for a company that claims “do no evil” as its company mantra. The video is hosted in the US, and we presume with part or full support of the creators of the film negating any copyright considerations, so ultimately it will be up to Google to decide between free speech and global jihad.

India HALOed?

When will India be an important market in video games world. Halo 3 hasn't been released yet in India.

Microsoft Corp.'s alien-killer gaming thrill, "Halo 3," has broken the U.S. sales record for a new video game by garnering an estimated US$170 million in its first 24-hours on sale, the company said late Wednesday.

The performance beat the previous record setter, predecessor Halo 2, which raked in $125 million within 24-hours after its launch.

That's not all. Halo 3 has beaten other records as well. More than 1.7 million copies of Halo 3 were pre-ordered in the U.S., making it the fastest pre-selling game in U.S. history, Microsoft said. The game also drew over a million Xbox Live members to play online in the first 20-hours on offer, making it the biggest day for Xbox Live gaming in history.

The video game industry has enjoyed sizzling sales this summer in the U.S, according to the industry researcher, NDP Group. In August, video game software sales rose nearly 23 percent year over year to $488 million, while overall industry sales totaled $993 million, including consoles and other hardware.

Sales figures for Halo 3 were collected for the U.S. only, and the figure will likely stand much higher after Microsoft tallies results from overseas. Halo 3 launched in 37 countries at midnight on Sept. 25 and is available in 17 languages. It retails for around $60.

The title could go on to become one of the top international sellers of all time, but it faces stiff competition. The top selling console game of all time, not originally bundled with a console, is Pokémon Red, Blue and Green, at 20.08 million units, according to figures compiled from the Web site Magic Box's Japan Platinum Game Chart and its U.S. Platinum Videogame Chart..
